Visiting Research Fellows, JRRI and Wesley Center

Short-term fellowships at the John Rylands Library, University of Manchester. This call for applications for John Rylands Research Institute / Manchester Wesley Research Centre Joint Visiting Fellowship is open to post-doctoral scholars who wish to conduct research at The John Rylands Library in the broad area of Methodist/Wesleyan studies. (It offers the opportunity to examine the materials from the perspective of the study of interfaith relations. In particular, there is considerable potential for work on the history of Methodist-Jewish relations, that is, on references to Jews and Judaism in the material held in the collections; see the background information and draft listing of relevant references.)  The fellowship provides free accommodation for up to six weeks at the Nazarene Theological College, with a bursary of up to  £150 a week to cover travel and living expenses. Archival Fellowship, Wissenschaft des Judentums

Archival Research Guide Project. The Centre is seeking to fund a short-term project to generate a Guide to the Marmorstein Collection, held at the University of Manchester. This would focus upon its relevance for the history of Wissenschaft des Judentums and of the Jewish Book in Eastern Europe, and would be designed to facilitate future scholarly research. Payment: A consultancy fee of £3500 for 4-6 weeks. Period in which the work must be completed: Anytime in the period 1 March 2017 - 31 Aug 2017. Deadline for application: 16 January 2017.
