Manchester and Balfour 100. Azriel Bermant, who recently completed a catalogue of Anglo-Israel holdings at the Rylands Library, has published an entry for Fathom entitled 'Chaim Weizmann, The Guardian and the Balfour Declaration' based on his findings. Further information.

The Centre is delighted to report the publication of George Brooke and Renate Smithuis, eds, Jewish Education from Antiquity to the Middle Ages: Studies in Honour of Philip S. PhD completion

Edmund Chapman on modern Jews and literary translation. The Centre would like to congratulate Edmund Chapman on the successful defence of his doctoral thesis 'Afterlives: Benjamin, Derrida and Literature in Translation'. His supervisors were Dr Jerome de Groot and Dr Robert Spencer. His external examiner was Prof Scott McCracken (Queen Mary, University of London). Concert performance
