Artist's Corner: Journal Entry 1 by artist Helena Tomlin

As part of the 50 Jewish Objects project, in addition to 3 major artists' commissions, 10 artist will set up performances of song, dance and stage, deliver workshops, or create smaller-scale art, related to the items that I have selected from the John Rylands Library collections. Here is the first of a series of blogpost by the first artist Helena Tomlin.

I’d like to introduce myself on this Blog, which I will be adding to over the autumn and winter months. The Centre for Jewish Studies has commissioned me to make a piece of work in response to my encounter with one of the selected 50 Jewish Objects at the John Rylands Library. I am very excited and inspired by the prospect of working with the Centre on the project and will be documenting the process in my journal and sketchbooks.
If you would like to find out more about my work please see my website www.helenatomlin.com.
