Genizah manuscripts and Jewish liturgy. Professor Stefan Reif, former Director of the Genizah Unit at Cambridge, will be visiting Manchester on 1st November 2018. Under the sponsorship of the Centre for Biblical Studies and the Centre for Jewish Studies he will address the Ehrhardt Seminar at 2.00pm on "Attitudes to Non-Jews Reflected in Old Jewish Prayer Books", at University Place 2.219. Under the sponsorship of the Anglo-Israel Archaeological Society, the Jewish Historical Society of England, and the Centre for Jewish Studies he will give a lecture at 7.30pm on "Why the Genizah Documents are Important for Jewish History", at the Sephardi Synagogue in Hale Barns, Cheshire WA15 0QH, opposite the Bull pub.
